Dr. Pete is a very accomplished surgeon, leveraging the latest global advancements….. working right here in Lindstrom, MN – His curiosity and passion drive him to continuously pursue the latest healing therapies. 

For example:

  • He was invited to attend the global symposium on advancements in Orthopedic Procedures, led by world renowned orthopedic surgeons and researchers, from Zurich, Switzerland.
  • He was only 1 of 24 surgeons invited to attend a special seminar on External Skeletal Fixation Techniques, in Nevada.
  • He was trained by Dr. Sherman Canapp (Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon) in Baltimore Maryland, in Bone Marrow Stem Cell Regeneration.  He has used these new therapies on his own elderly dog, and select patients.

When he’s not doing surgery, Dr. Pete enjoys tournament bass fishing, playing basketball, landscaping and spending time with his family. He and his family have lived in, and cherished this local community for over 25 years. 

Dr. Anna Ulfeng

Dr. Ulfeng received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine.

In her last quarter of veterinary school, she studied Avian Pathology at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.  Dr. Ulfeng enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and long walks in nature. Mostly she enjoys traveling of any kind as well as music, the arts, and poetry. She has two cats – a gray tabby cat named Mr. Squishy Tickles and a brown tabby cat named Grace O’Malley.

Dr. Eoghan Henderson

Dr. Henderson completed his undergraduate work at the University of Notre Dame and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.  

He and his wife are the servants of three former shelter cats, Taz, Iris, and Sir Nicholas DeMousey-Puffington (AKA Nick). In his free time, he enjoys all things outdoors, hiking, kayaking, camping and gardening. He recently took an interest in blacksmithing and plays drums for a bagpipe band. He also enjoys cheering on the Fighting Irish!

HOLLY

  

Holly is our Lakes Veterinary & Surgical Center Executive Director.  She received her Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University, where she studied Animal Husbandry, and was heavily involved in the Equine Management program.  She has a strong business background and is instrumental in continually upgrading technology and service to meet the evolving expectations of our clients.   Holly’s goal, along with the team, is to provide an exceptional experience to each client that trusts us with the care of their pet.  When she is not working, Holly enjoys boating, kayaking, walking, and exploring the beautiful Chisago Lakes area.

SUE

Sue is a highly valued member of our Leadership team. She joined LVSC in 2013 when we created the Finance Manager position to help guide our growth. She earned a four-year degree in Accounting from Minnesota State University of Mankato.

Family is her greatest blessing with 2 children, 3 step-children, and 6 grandchildren. Sue and her husband enjoy spending time at their lake home in northern Minnesota watching the wildlife and beautiful sunsets.

SHARON

 

Sharon is our Front Desk Manager. She has been a Veterinary Technician for over 25 years and has been with Lakes Veterinary & Surgical Center since 2003. She combines her Business, Management and Vet Tech skills to keep things running smoothly at the front desk (no easy task!). She graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota and completed a three-month internship at the Minnesota Zoo. She has also worked in emergency medicine. 

She is the proud parent of 3 cats, and a Chihuahua, named Carmella. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies, shopping and relaxing at home with her ‘furry kids’.

KATHY

Kathy has always loved animals and as a kid knew she wanted to work with animals no matter what. She graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota with a degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has been a member of the Lakes Veterinary and Surgical Center team since 2003. Kathy loves working at a clinic where she can help with specialized surgeries and procedures.

In addition to Kathy’s well-honed technical abilities, she is a member of the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians and a Hills Nutritional Advocate.

Kathy is an extremely gentle, caring person. In her free time, Kathy can be found spending time with her husband, three kids and numerous animals. She enjoys riding her horses, hunting and spending time with her family.

SHELLEY

Shelley is our Lead Surgery Technician and has been a member of our LVSC family since 2000. She joined our staff after a 12-year career of owning her own business in turf management. Shortly after starting at Lakes Veterinary and Surgical Center, she soon discovered her true calling as a Surgery Assistant, which she greatly enjoys. Shelley received her Veterinary Assistant Certification from Penn Foster College. She is also a Certified Veterinary Dental Technician and is a member of the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians.

Her interests include orthopedics, dentistry, behavioral modification, nutrition (which she eagerly shares with clients) and alternative medicine.

When not at work, she can be found relaxing with her husband, Dave, and their dog Maxx, along with his friends Tigua and Pearl.

Shelley enjoys camping and fishing with her husband, in addition to tending her many gardens at home. Lapidary arts (polishing and cutting rocks) is her passion.

KAYLA

Kayla is our Assistant Manager.  She is currently certified as a Veterinary Technician Assistant and is attending school to become certified as a Veterinary Technician.  Kayla spent 5 years assisting with veterinary emergency medicine in North Carolina.

She is proud to be the wife of a marine and in her spare time she is busy tending to a menagerie of rescue animals that includes 1 cat and 7 dogs.  She also cares for 3 horses and her flock of chickens.

TARA

Tara graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado. She has worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician at Lakes Veterinary and Surgical Center since 2012.

Tara is passionate about patient care, and has a deep understanding of veterinary medicine. When not at work, she loves to garden and hunt for agates.

She lives with her son and her cat, Chico.

CLAIRE

Claire is our Student Assistant.  She is currently attending the University of Minnesota, and plans to be a Veterinarian.

CHARLI

Charli is our Veterinary Technician Assistant.  She comforts pets after surgery, keeps the surgery/recovery area spotless, prepares surgical packs, and also assists appointment technicians.
