Dr. Meaghan has had to take a leave of absence for the foreseeable future. On March 20th, Dr. Meaghan was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkins T-cell lymphoma called angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma. For those clients who want to stay informed of how Dr. Meaghan is doing here is her CaringBridge site.
Some of you have asked how you can help our amazing Dr. Meaghan, here is her Go Fund Me page:
Dr. Meaghan graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in June 2000. She soon started her career at a small animal hospital near St. Paul for just over two years, and then joined the staff at Lakes Veterinary & Surgical Center in November 2002.
To broaden her horizons and keep up with the ever-changing field of medicine, Dr. Meaghan attends a minimum of 35 hours of continuing education each year in a variety of topics including surgery, and all areas of medicine and dentistry.
When Dr. Meaghan was 6 she dreamed of being a horse jockey, unfortunately she was already as tall as most jockeys at that age. Instead, she thought she would work with horses, but once again she was at a disadvantage living in the city. That is when her interest and love for small animals evolved. Away from Lakes Veterinary and Surgical Center, Meaghan lives with her husband and three sons. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and gardening in the summer.
